Zero Tolerance ZT0452

Typically when I envision a Zero Tolerance knife I’m picturing a large blade from thick stock, possibly with a recurved profile, and definitely with thick, robust handles. With the introduction of the ZT0452 at the 2015 SHOT Show, that all has to … Continue reading

Bark River Ultra-Lite Bushcrafter

This is, hands down, my favorite lightweight, EDC fixed blade. At just over 2 ounces and made with 3V steel, the Bark River Ultra-Lite Bushcrafter is tough and ready for use. This one, sadly, has not seen much action. Give it time.

Zero Tolerance ZT0566, Lounging in the Sun

Zero Tolerance is one of my favorite brands. In 2014 ZT really moved into a sweet spot for EDC. The size is right. The mechanism is right. The steel is right. The build is right. The ZT0566 is a fantastic … Continue reading

Knives are about artistry: Alan Warren

Alan Warren is one of our favorite knife makers, a true artist. I love watching his ideas go from a rough sketch to a finished masterpiece. He used beautiful mammoth ivory on this piece. Honestly, I don’t know anyone who makes a … Continue reading

I carry this GEC knife a lot. I love this thing — it’s a Great Eastern Cutlery #61. (Photographed with a Nikon D810 at f/11. Yeah, it should’ve been higher.)
